Poker Freeroll Guide

Poker is among the most famous card games in the world. Many people play poker for fun or to make money. You can play cash poker but many people play freerolls and like these tournaments. Freeroll is a tournament without buy-in. Everybody can play for free. You do not have to pay anything but can win real money. Such tournaments are excellent for new poker players. Why? They can raise player’s skill. Freerolls helped me to understand that tight poker is not for me. I modified my strategy and now it is much more comfortable. I think a player needs to look at poker game from different positions and freerolls will be beneficial for you.

To choose where to play freerolls you need to collect information first. Try to find more information about poker rooms that offer freerolls. It will not be waste of your time. You need to play special freerolls where your chances to win are higher. That means you need freerolls with good prizes and few opponents. Yes the task is not easy. But just think: big poker rooms offer freerolls with about 8000 seats. Are your chances to win high? Of course not. You can spend 3 hours playing such tourney but still win nothing! That’s why to play such freerolls is not the best way to spend your time. Try to find freerolls with few opponents. It will be much easier to win such tourney and you will be able to become a winner more often. And that is important too.

And now let’s talk about freeroll strategy. A lot of players play freerolls too tight. They do not have a strategy. I advice you to think about it. Why do we play freerolls? We want to win. And to win we need a rather big stack. Try to build your stack in the beginning. Do not afraid to go all-in. A5 or a pair of fives is rather good to push all-in. But do not call someone’s all-in with such hands. You will probably lose. If your push was successful wait other good opportunity to double up. You need to make a good stack and then you can become tight. Do not continue your risky game. You have completed your first task – you have good stack. Now you need to win. Freerolls are also good for testing different strategies. You can try to play tight or loose poker. You can find your own way to play.

Of course the first advantage of freerolls is that they are free. Play poker as much as you want without risking your own money. I think it’s a rather good deal for beginners.
